How to Protect Your Computer From Viruses

How to Protect Your Computer From Viruses
With millions of computer users browsing the web at any given time, there are plenty of targets for malicious coders. While computer experts don’t always know why coders choose to build harmful computer programs, the fact is that it happens all the time. Computer viruses can steal personal information, interfere with normal operations, attract spam and even shut down your computer’s hard drive. Protecting your computer is critical for browsing success.

Start With the Basics
Most computer systems come with security features already in place. For example, the Windows operating system is packaged with Microsoft Windows Security Center. When you first open, boot up and register a new computer, you should make sure that this program is functioning. It will give basic protection against spyware, viruses and malware. In addition, a basic firewall is built into this program, providing additional protection and stops for potentially harmful programs. Upon activation, don’t be surprised if your security system needs immediate updating. Software that protects your computer needs regular and consistent updating to stay useful. Viruses are constantly being generated and the several-month lag between when your computer was made and when you first started using it can mean that the database the security system is loaded with is severely out-of-date.

Upgrade to Meet Your Needs
Many people operate computers for a long time with only basic protection in place. However, heavy computer users or those who have risky browsing habits can sometimes benefit from upgrading their virus, spyware and malware protection, as well as using a fuller-featured firewall; this is especially important if you use a networked computer system. Basic or free virus protection will still scan and update for viruses. Paid programs, however, offer more features, including ease-of-use and convenience features. The most important thing is to verify the publisher and make sure you are getting what is promised. Most well-known virus protection programs, such as AVG and Norton Security, have reviews available to help you make your choice.

Learn About Spyware Risks
Spyware creates risks that many computer users are not aware of. If you are only protecting against viruses, you could be leaving your computer open to damage. Most people are familiar with spyware that initiates and attracts annoying ad programs. Spyware, however, can be much more malicious as well. Your shopping habits can be tracked by spyware. While not exactly harmful, some people consider this a breach of privacy. The worst spyware programs interfere with normal operations and can even track what you type, sending personal information to people who want to steal your identity. Some spyware redirects your browser to different web addresses, increasing your risks of virus infection and fraud.

How Viruses Work
The main difference between spyware and viruses is how they are spread. A virus reproduces itself and attaches to any document that the computer sends, while spyware can be stored as a cookie or tracking code. A virus is most often found traveling with a piece of computer software, such as a document, picture or piece of music. When dealing with email, it is necessary to open an attachment to become infected, indicating that, in most cases, the computer user must somehow invite the malicious software to replicate on their system. Of course, most people have no idea it is there or what is happening. Some of the sneakiest and most harmful viruses actually masquerade as virus protection software, making them extremely hard to detect. Because of this, it’s crucial to be familiar with your particular virus protection program and know what it looks like and what the normal scripts and prompts are during operation. Viruses do some of the same things that spyware does; they just accomplish it differently. An active virus can steal personal information, generate ads or shut down your system, including the very virus protection programs that can fix the issue.

Take Steps For Protection
Like anything, the best way to protect against viruses is to be educated. Become familiar with what malicious software may look like. If you get an email or are asked to download a file that you don’t recognize or looks suspicious, do your homework. Research virus protection, spyware, malware and firewall programs and use them to their fullest capacity. Set the software to update and scan automatically to make sure that the system is constantly monitored. In addition, regularly check on the databases published by various virus protection services; many will provide lists of symptoms and risks, as well as the standard way the file gains access for no cost to the public.

Dog Training Guide

House Training a Dog or Puppy

House training is important for a good relationship between the dog and its owner. All dogs are capable of being house trained whether they are a puppy or an adult dog but the sooner you start the better. Dogs are creatures of habit, so if you let bad habits develop early it will be harder to change them in the future.
The Dog's Den
Untrained dogs and puppies should not be left free to roam the house unsupervised. If no one is going to be home or you are unable to keep a close eye on your dog, then you should confine him to either their crate or a small confined area (the dog's den) covered with newspapers where he can't do any damage. In the confined area you should put a few toys, their bed (can be a towel, cardboard box or open crate), and their food and water bowl (don't leave it filled up though because they will eat and drink and need to eliminate continuously). Just remember that you should not leave your dog confined all day, but give your dog sufficient playtime and exercise.

New Area Introduction
Once you have established the dog's den or living area, which can be any confined area of the house, try spending as much time as you can with your dog in that area. As mentioned earlier put a few toys, their bed and feeding bowls in their den. Feed your dog, let him sleep and play with them in this area.

After your dog gets used to their bed, you can introduce the dog to new areas of the house by moving the dog's bed to different areas of the house. You want to confine your dog to his bed, close the crate door if his bed is a crate or leash your dog to a piece of furniture if the bed is something else, it's important to never leave your dog unattended when you leash your dog. Another way to introduce your dog to other parts of the house is by leasing your dog to yourself by tying the leash around your waist. This way you can keep a constant eye on him and make sure that he doesn't cause any mischief. Once your dog is potty trained, you can let your dog eat, sleep, and play with supervision in the rooms which you have already introduced. Do this one room at a time.
Chewing
Dogs are naturally inclined to chew on things, which helps keep their teeth and gums healthy and exercises their jaw so it is wise to buy chew toys for him to chew on. By giving them their own toys to chew on they'll be less inclined to chew on things which they aren't supposed to chew on. If your puppy does chew on objects which he isn't supposed to you must give him a stern "No Chew" command, then make him sit down, and praise him for his good act of sitting and give him a toy that he can chew on. The "No Chew" command must be given when he is in the act of chewing so he'll associate his chewing with the command. It is important that you constantly praise and reward your dog for their good actions such as when they eliminate in their area or play with their toys.

Off
Keeping your dog off furniture is an important part of house training. If your dog is on furniture that he's not supposed to be on, give him a stern "Off" command and quickly bump him off by pushing his stomach with your knee or hand then make him sit down, and praise him for his good act of sitting.

The Meanings of Red Roses.

Words or pictures have never fully encompassed the sheer beauty and grandeur of the red rose. The red rose is undeniably the most beautiful among all the roses, full blooded and rich. The incredibly beautiful Cleopatra used the red rose to carpet her bedroom when she received Antony. All roses convey warmth, affection and love in varying degrees. But the red rose, being the queen of roses, is the most popular and beloved of all.

The most obvious and well known meaning of the red rose is deep love and affection. In the 18th century, a special rose language evolved as a means of communication between lovers who were forced by society to keep their feelings a secret. And the red rose came to symbolize true love that would stand the test of time. Staunchly promising affection that is forever riding high is what the red rose means. The red rose denotes a true love that is stronger than thorns and can outlive all obstacles.

Desire is another facet of the red rose. The red rose expresses the throbbing heat of new love, a passionate expression of attraction. Red is the color of consummation, of raging desires and craving passion. The meaning of the red rose then is quite apparent from its color itself. Red rose speaks of love that awaits a passionate expression.

Red roses are the most popular valentine roses, which is why their prices shoot up during February. The red rose, especially, a single red rose simply expresses, "I love you very deeply". Bright red roses are interpreted as the ultimate expression of romantic and abiding love. Their bright red shade expresses these emotions perfectly.

In addition to beauty and passion, red roses also symbolize courage. The red rose is also a symbol of power, as represented in the War of the Roses. Red roses seek to congratulate a job well done, and to express respect and appreciation. The red rose celebrates the creative spirit of love.

A red rosebud also has its own meaning. Youthful love, innocent and fresh is what the bud stands for. The attractive and unopened rosebud celebrates unpretentious and honest beauty. Purity and loveliness are what the red rosebud stands for.

Red roses also have a different kind of meaning within marriage. Red roses express domestic bliss that is at once passionate as well as abiding. A love that is growing in strength, away from monotony and still fresh is what the red rose portrays.

Just as there are many shades of love, so also the red rose has many shades. And the meaning of each shade varies. Poets have immortalized red roses as the flower of romantic, passionate love. But innocence, courage, heroism are some of the various meanings of the red rose.

Our red feather roses are so gorgeous and unique that they are ideal for almost any special occasion. For example, red feather rose buds bring your loved ones surprise along with warmth; half blooming red feather roses are perfect gifts for mom; half blooming and blooming red feather roses are great for weddings/anniversaries, birthday/baby gifts, hospital visits and a lot of more. They can also be given to your coworkers as signs of appreciation or "Job Well Done".

How to Get a Credit Card with No Credit

How to Get a Credit Card with No Credit

Ramit Sethi is a New York Times best-selling author and creator of one of our favorite personal finance sites, I Will Teach You to Be Rich. In his weekly video Q&A, Ramit answers common questions about personal finance, careers, and more. This week: How can you get a credit card when you don't have a credit history?
Edgar from El Paso, TX, asks: "I'm just starting to build my credit history. I have a secured CC with a $500 limit and I've had it for 2 years and I've always paid it on time. About a year ago I called to see if they could give me an unsecured card instead. The answer was NO (for some BS-sounding reasons). How can I negotiate with them so they'll give me an unsecured credit card?"
I answer Edgar's specific question in the video above, but I wanted to highlight two things to know about using your credit cards.
#1. If you don't have a credit card yet...
You're missing out on thousands of dollars of free credit card perks like automatic warranty extensions, free travel insurance, and purchase protection.
More importantly, you're not building credit, which will cost you when you make major life purchases. For example, if you buy an average-priced house, the difference between what you'll pay with excellent credit vs. what you'll pay if you have poor credit is over $100,000. Building your credit is one of the few Big Wins you can have in your financial life.
First, try to get a standard credit card. Here's my favorite credit card.
If the credit-card company rejects you because you don't have credit, go for a secured credit card. These are essentially "starter" credit cards, where you put about $500 down as collateral, then slowly build your credit up. Over time, you'll graduate into a regular card. I explain the details of this in the video above.
#2. If you're on a secured credit card...
Since secured credit cards charge unnecessarily high fees and limit your credit, your goal is to move from a secured credit card to a standard ("unsecured") credit card, which will give you more flexibility and lower fees.
To do this, pay off your secured credit card every month — no exceptions. After 6 months, call the credit-card company and ask for an unsecured credit card. If they say no, ask what it will take to move to an unsecured card.
It usually takes 6-12 months to graduate to an unsecured card. Anything beyond that, I suggest you approach a different credit-card company and apply for an unsecured card with them.
Remember, there are a lot of credit card companies that would love to have your business. When you use your credit cards right, they are an interest-free loan with incredible rewards.
If you want to know how to take full advantage of your credit cards, I cover exactly how — including the word-for-word scripts to negotiate late fees, how to decrease your APR, and special perks that few people know about — in chapter 1 of my New York Times best-selling book. If you're interested,

Qur'an

9:1
Sahih International
[This is a declaration of] disassociation, from Allah and His Messenger, to those with whom you had made a treaty among the polytheists.
9:2
Sahih International
So travel freely, [O disbelievers], throughout the land [during] four months but know that you cannot cause failure to Allah and that Allah will disgrace the disbelievers.
9:3
Sahih International
And [it is] an announcement from Allah and His Messenger to the people on the day of the greater pilgrimage that Allah is disassociated from the disbelievers, and [so is] His Messenger. So if you repent, that is best for you; but if you turn away - then know that you will not cause failure to Allah . And give tidings to those who disbelieve of a painful punishment.
9:4
Sahih International
Excepted are those with whom you made a treaty among the polytheists and then they have not been deficient toward you in anything or supported anyone against you; so complete for them their treaty until their term [has ended]. Indeed, Allah loves the righteous [who fear Him].
9:5
Sahih International
And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, let them [go] on their way. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
9:6
Sahih International
And if any one of the polytheists seeks your protection, then grant him protection so that he may hear the words of Allah . Then deliver him to his place of safety. That is because they are a people who do not know.
9:7
Sahih International
How can there be for the polytheists a treaty in the sight of Allah and with His Messenger, except for those with whom you made a treaty at al-Masjid al-Haram? So as long as they are upright toward you, be upright toward them. Indeed, Allah loves the righteous [who fear Him].
9:8
Sahih International
How [can there be a treaty] while, if they gain dominance over you, they do not observe concerning you any pact of kinship or covenant of protection? They satisfy you with their mouths, but their hearts refuse [compliance], and most of them are defiantly disobedient.
9:9
Sahih International
They have exchanged the signs of Allah for a small price and averted [people] from His way. Indeed, it was evil that they were doing.
9:10
Sahih International
They do not observe toward a believer any pact of kinship or covenant of protection. And it is they who are the transgressors.
9:11
Sahih International
But if they repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, then they are your brothers in religion; and We detail the verses for a people who know.
9:12
Sahih International
And if they break their oaths after their treaty and defame your religion, then fight the leaders of disbelief, for indeed, there are no oaths [sacred] to them; [fight them that] they might cease.
9:13
Sahih International
Would you not fight a people who broke their oaths and determined to expel the Messenger, and they had begun [the attack upon] you the first time? Do you fear them? But Allah has more right that you should fear Him, if you are [truly] believers.
9:14
Sahih International
Fight them; Allah will punish them by your hands and will disgrace them and give you victory over them and satisfy the breasts of a believing people
9:15
Sahih International
And remove the fury in the believers' hearts. And Allah turns in forgiveness to whom He wills; and Allah is Knowing and Wise.
9:16
Sahih International
Do you think that you will be left [as you are] while Allah has not yet made evident those among you who strive [for His cause] and do not take other than Allah , His Messenger and the believers as intimates? And Allah is Acquainted with what you do.
9:17
Sahih International
It is not for the polytheists to maintain the mosques of Allah [while] witnessing against themselves with disbelief. [For] those, their deeds have become worthless, and in the Fire they will abide eternally.
9:18
Sahih International
The mosques of Allah are only to be maintained by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day and establish prayer and give zakah and do not fear except Allah , for it is expected that those will be of the [rightly] guided.
9:19
Sahih International
Have you made the providing of water for the pilgrim and the maintenance of al-Masjid al-Haram equal to [the deeds of] one who believes in Allah and the Last Day and strives in the cause of Allah ? They are not equal in the sight of Allah . And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
9:20
Sahih International
The ones who have believed, emigrated and striven in the cause of Allah with their wealth and their lives are greater in rank in the sight of Allah . And it is those who are the attainers [of success].
9:21
Sahih International
Their Lord gives them good tidings of mercy from Him and approval and of gardens for them wherein is enduring pleasure.
9:22
Sahih International
[They will be] abiding therein forever. Indeed, Allah has with Him a great reward.
9:23

O you who have believed, do not take your fathers or your brothers as allies if they have preferred disbelief over belief. And whoever does so among you - then it is those who are the wrongdoers.
9:24

Say, [O Muhammad], "If your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your wives, your relatives, wealth which you have obtained, commerce wherein you fear decline, and dwellings with which you are pleased are more beloved to you than Allah and His Messenger and jihad in His cause, then wait until Allah executes His command. And Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people."
9:25

Allah has already given you victory in many regions and [even] on the day of Hunayn, when your great number pleased you, but it did not avail you at all, and the earth was confining for you with its vastness; then you turned back, fleeing.
9:26

Then Allah sent down His tranquillity upon His Messenger and upon the believers and sent down soldiers angels whom you did not see and punished those who disbelieved. And that is the recompense of the disbelievers.
9:27
Sahih International
Then Allah will accept repentance after that for whom He wills; and Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
9:28
Sahih International
O you who have believed, indeed the polytheists are unclean, so let them not approach al-Masjid al-Haram after this, their [final] year. And if you fear privation, Allah will enrich you from His bounty if He wills. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Wise.
9:29
Sahih International
Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture - [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled.
9:30
Sahih International
The Jews say, "Ezra is the son of Allah "; and the Christians say, "The Messiah is the son of Allah ." That is their statement from their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved [before them]. May Allah destroy them; how are they deluded?
9:31
Sahih International
They have taken their scholars and monks as lords besides Allah , and [also] the Messiah, the son of Mary. And they were not commanded except to worship one God; there is no deity except Him. Exalted is He above whatever they associate with Him.
9:32
Sahih International
They want to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah refuses except to perfect His light, although the disbelievers dislike it.
9:33
Sahih International
It is He who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion, although they who associate others with Allah dislike it.
9:34
Sahih International
O you who have believed, indeed many of the scholars and the monks devour the wealth of people unjustly and avert [them] from the way of Allah . And those who hoard gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah - give them tidings of a painful punishment.
9:35
Sahih International
The Day when it will be heated in the fire of Hell and seared therewith will be their foreheads, their flanks, and their backs, [it will be said], "This is what you hoarded for yourselves, so taste what you used to hoard."
9:36
Sahih International
Indeed, the number of months with Allah is twelve [lunar] months in the register of Allah [from] the day He created the heavens and the earth; of these, four are sacred. That is the correct religion, so do not wrong yourselves during them. And fight against the disbelievers collectively as they fight against you collectively. And know that Allah is with the righteous [who fear Him].
9:37
Sahih International
Indeed, the postponing [of restriction within sacred months] is an increase in disbelief by which those who have disbelieved are led [further] astray. They make it lawful one year and unlawful another year to correspond to the number made unlawful by Allah and [thus] make lawful what Allah has made unlawful. Made pleasing to them is the evil of their deeds; and Allah does not guide the disbelieving people.
9:38
Sahih International
O you who have believed, what is [the matter] with you that, when you are told to go forth in the cause of Allah , you adhere heavily to the earth? Are you satisfied with the life of this world rather than the Hereafter? But what is the enjoyment of worldly life compared to the Hereafter except a [very] little.
9:39
Sahih International
If you do not go forth, He will punish you with a painful punishment and will replace you with another people, and you will not harm Him at all. And Allah is over all things competent.
9:40
Sahih International
If you do not aid the Prophet - Allah has already aided him when those who disbelieved had driven him out [of Makkah] as one of two, when they were in the cave and he said to his companion, "Do not grieve; indeed Allah is with us." And Allah sent down his tranquillity upon him and supported him with angels you did not see and made the word of those who disbelieved the lowest, while the word of Allah - that is the highest. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.
9:41
Sahih International
Go forth, whether light or heavy, and strive with your wealth and your lives in the cause of Allah . That is better for you, if you only knew.
9:42
Sahih International
Had it been an easy gain and a moderate trip, the hypocrites would have followed you, but distant to them was the journey. And they will swear by Allah , "If we were able, we would have gone forth with you," destroying themselves [through false oaths], and Allah knows that indeed they are liars.
